West Marin House, Minimalist House Design with Glass and Wood in Walls, designed by Fernau and Hartman Architects. This of house is a gentle wooded slope that rises above a lake in northern California and see the light filtered through the canopy of the forest and the trees to the Coast Mountains beyond. Given a natural and very attractive, our goal was to design a building separated from his site, where internal and external distinctions are so fluid to become doubtful. (more…)

Kirk House was designed by Max Pritchard Architect, located in Adelaide foothills, South Australia. The main living area opens back onto this courtyard, but faces north to maximize winter sun and capture distant views of the sea. Raw concrete floors, coloured rendered walls and timber decks reinforce the simple sculptural form. This house curves around a semi circular courtyard, containing the outdoor entertaining area of timber decks and swimming pool, with views over the adjoining nature reserve.
