Designed by Make Architects, located in London. The external envelope has been restored to its original massing with the interior completely reconfigured to reconnect the house with its gardens. Light, vistas and selected glimpses of the grounds beyond are drawn through the interior and a new extension capped by an undulating roof reinforces this vital relationship between the house and its setting. Contemporary detailing captures the original spirit of the house’s design, with the understated modernity of the scheme complemented by a warm palette of traditional materials such as bronze, oak and brick.
