Architecture and Home Design | Maya Ubud Hotel and Spa, Luxury Hotel and Spa in Bali, Indonesia

January 18, 2018 By: Jason Marie Category: Без рубрики

Maya Ubud Hotel and Spa, is Luxury Hotel and Spa in Bali, Indonesia. Designed by Denton Corker Marshall. Located high between two river valleys, Maya Ubud sits on a long peninsula of land, which slopes gradually before dropping off dramatically at the southern tip where the Maya Spa sits near a small waterfall on the banks of the river Petanu. Maya Ubud juggles with new and traditional concepts in its design: there are no intricate Balinese paintings, masks nor statues; instead, a deeper, Ancient Balinese concept is celebrated through its landscape and architecture.

Its siting is inspired by the prehistoric Balinese tradition of orientating the villages along the Kaja-Kelod sacred axis, linking the mountains in the centre of the island – the realm of Gods (Kaja) – to the surrounding seas where the demons are (Kelod). A ceremonial central spine follows the main ridge connecting the major public spaces such as the porte-cochere, lobby and spa. The ‘houses’ are then positioned on both sides of the village axis following the contour of the land. At Maya four parallel lines in the form of massive stone walls emphasise the main ceremonial spine. Modern functional spaces are free to slip in and out of these walls; some go further, hanging over the cliff in the case of the swimming pool and restaurant. Culture and heritage are celebrated wherever you look. The subtlety of this celebration is that it is not immediately recognisable to the observer. [ Denton Corker Marshall ]

This urban house is located in Mexico City and it was designed by Gomez Crespo Arquitectos. It has irregular form which responds to different parts of landscape. A blend of limestone, glass and steel was used to give the house a strong modern even minimalist look. As many houses in this region it’s strongly connected with outdoor spaces and has awesome views around it. The whole first floor has contact with gardens surrounding the house. Big windows allow to catch as much natural light as possible. Neutral colors and materials as well as high-tech lighting system help house to be in contrast with landscape and add it some elegance.

Denai House is private house design in Malaysia, designed by by Razin Architect in 2007 for an 8000 sq.ft site in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. The house, completed in 2009, is organized in an elongated manner perpendicular to the main road. The basic planning house is one room thick, to promote cross ventilation for all spaces, as well as ensuring every room has a view to the 3X15m long lap pool.

There is no formal enclosed living room. House layout was done strictly on practical everyday functions. Kitchen is located right near the entrance as the main activity center with family TV area next to it. Sliding folding timber doors open up the family to the lounge, turning it into a spacious combined area where kitchen, family, dining and lounge spread across the 6X18m area without any dividing partitions.[ Razin Architect ]

Designed by Alter Studio, the Clarion Residence bursts out of its conventional suburban development and program by pinpointing the site’s latent capacity for stunning views. In contrast to the introverted Spanish Colonial building stock of its neighbors, the Clarion Cove Residence makes use of balconies, terraces and large windows to connect to near and distant views. Rooms are distinct but connected through an internal gallery – that begins at the main entrance and ends in the master suite – defined by multiple source of light and views. Refusing to be mired in the aspirations of its immediate setting, the Clarion Cove House presents a bold and modern rendition of the stereotypical program for a family of four. Kitchel residence is one of residence that placed on the hills and surrounded by environmentally sensitive forest. Designed by BOORA Architects, in Northwest Portland, Oregon. The house’s boomerang shape and folded geometry aligns with the topography which produces a dynamic special quality and admits daylight. While designing the house the goal was to create a calm place which maintain openness while preserving privacy. In the result a 825-square-foot room was created that includes a kitchen, a dining area, and a living room on the lower floor. A bedroom and office perch above in a dramatically contoured, sparsely decorated loft. A 38-foot-long, two-level bookshelf filled with a prodigious collection of tomes snakes along the wall’s inner surface, connecting the bedroom to the office along a hovering hallway. This solution doesn’t take a lot of space or spoil aesthetic of the interior but store enormous amount of books. The extensive glazing contributes to the open and spacious feeling of the home, while the tree canopy provides privacy for the living spaces.
