Origami Folding Planes can inspire a House, as like this house: Origami House by Formwerks Architects Description from Architects:

A detached dwelling for a small family of 3, the private spaces are enclosed in a sculptural loop that is poised above a dark base that extends down to a basement level multi-entertainment area.

Designed by DLab, this modern house is located in Singapore. This is house reconstruction on Margoliouth Road retains the majority of the existing 2 storey bungalow on the site. The existing house structure is retained and forms the largest solid volume which contains the family-oriented accommodations such as the Dining, Kitchen, Family rooms and children’s bedrooms. It occupies the western half of the site and anchors the dwelling as a whole. Three more pavilions were added to the eastern half of the site. The first houses the grandparent’s suite and master suite. This monolithic 2 storey pavilion is situated at the furthest eastern corner of the site to act as a counter weight to the existing house. The second is a double volume glass pavilion for the living room and is placed in between the first two pavilions. This space uses insulation glazing on three of its facades, allowing daylight to flood the room so that it is perceived more like a sheltered outdoor venue. The third addition to the house is a partially enclosed garden courtyard placed at the center of the house, making it the focal point of all the living spaces. The courtyard is treated architecturally like all the other rooms, with three sides of the space enclosed in glass and a staircase to the master suite cantilevering off its side wall. Source

Architecture and Home Design | Hemeroscopium House, Luxury House in Madrid by Ensamble Studios

May 29, 2017 By: Jason Marie Category: Без рубрики

These are some picture of Hemeroscopium House, one of luxury house was designed by Ensamble Studios. This house located in Madrid, Spain. This house has two swimming pool, one at ground floor and other at upper floor.

Description from Ensamble Studios:
For the Greek, Hemeroscopium is the place where the sun sets. An allusion to a place that exists only in our mind, in our senses, that is ever-changing and mutable, but is nonetheless real. It is delimited by the references of the horizon, by the physical limits, defined by light, and it happens in time.

Hemeroscopium house traps, a domestic space, and a distant horizon. And it does so playing a game with structures placed in anapparently unstable balance, that enclose the living spaces allowing the vision to escape. Heavy structures and big actions are disposed in a way to provoke gravity to move the space. And this way the place is defined.

The order in which these structures are piled up generates a helix that sets out from a stable support, the mother beam, and develops upwards in a sequence of elements that become lighter as the structure grows, closing on a point that culminates the system of equilibrium. Seven elements in total. The design of their joints respond to their constructive nature, to their forces; and their stresses express the structural condition they have. By the way this structure is set, the house becomes aerial, light, transparent, and the space kept inside flows with life. The apparent simplicity of the structure’s joints required in fact the development of complex calculations, due to the reinforcement, and the pre-tension and post-tension of the steel rods that sew the web of the beams.

It took us a year to engineer but only seven days to build the structure, thanks to a total prefabrication of the different elements and a perfectly coordinated rhythm of assembly. All of our effort oriented to develop the technique that would allow creating a very specific space. And thus, a new astonishing language is invented, where form disappears giving way to the naked space. Hemeroscopium house materializes the peak of its equilibrium with what in Ensamble Studio we ironically call the “G point”, a twenty ton granite stone, expression of the force of gravity and a physical counterweight to the whole structure.

This Hörsaalzentrum Auditorium Complex is designed by Schmidt Hammer Lassen Architects, located in Aachen, Germany
Located on a block within the campus, the four storey complex is conceived as a singular sculptural object, breaking with the block structure by pulling back from the adjacent line of buildings. Two existing buildings on the block will be demolished in ten years time to create a new landscaped plaza with reflecting pools and greenery, increasing the visibility and enhancing the setting of the distinctive auditorium building.

The complex has seven entrances to make it accessible from all sides of the campus with main entrances directly into the atrium on the north side and into the facade facing the plaza to the east.

The project is part of RWTH’s major development strategy, which will add 280,000 sq m of new accommodation to the campus in the next nine years to create one of the largest research landscapes in Europe. The new auditorium complex will be located at the epicentre of three of the six parts of the campus; the Central Campus, the Sports Campus and the West Campus.

Architecture and Home Design | House at Punta Chilen by DRN, Site Offers an Open View

May 11, 2017 By: Jason Marie Category: Без рубрики

Description of House at Punta Chilen :
Located on the tip of a peninsula on the island of Chiloe, the site offers an open view of the horizon 360º around it and distant views over the Andes mountains where at least 8 volcanos can be seen (some of them still active). A rhythmic repetition of columns on the first floor carry the structure to the perimeter and generates changing shadows on the interiors. The oblique shape of the corten steel roof on the second floor defines an irregular perimeter opposed to the flat line of the horizon, creating a contained living space to inhabit during the rainy days of Chiloe. Please visit DRN site for further detail about this house.
